Cute Kitten

San Antonio Cat 311 Project

Volunteers needed!

The 10th Life Cat Sanctuary is creating an extensive call center and developing information resources so that we can volunteer to help the City of San Antonio with all of the 311 city informatiom calls that relate to cats. It is estimated that there are currently over 350,000 free-roaming cats in San Antonio. We hope to take ALL these 311 calls by January 1, 2008. In the best interests of San Antonio's cats, we need dozens of friendly volunteers to return cat related phone calls received by our call center messaging system. Our goal is to offer advice and solutions to the callers and help them to resolve their cat related issues or refer them to agencies that can help. The most important call center requirement is that the volunteer be able to accept the level of interest the caller expresses. Many calls will be from people who just consider these cats a nuisance and want them out of their yard. Volunteers can work from their homes. An internet connection is not necessary. 10th Life intends to begin call center operations no later than 15 August 2007. If you are interested in helping with this effort, even for just a few hours each week, please call the 10th Life Cat Sanctuary Helpline at (210) 521-7300.
